Hey~

It's already the few days of summer, and I'm a lazy frig. I've been spending most of these days locked in my room doing absolutely nothing but laptoping. Really, that's just a waste of a few days on the spot. What now? Well, I've decided to start working out again! It's almost boo's graduation / grad party! Gotta be in tip top shape by then! Also, going to start drawing again~ (tonight maybe?). Don't want to waste my summer doing nothing! So these will be one of the many things I'm planning to do over the break!

Also, looks like Danny Choo has done it again! Ever since I've started to read many of the articles on dannychoo.com , there's always one particular item that's always there and always shining - anime figures! My oh my, there's so many of them and they're all so wonderful~ So, decided to take up figure collecting as a new hobby of mine ever since AnimeNext~ Going to post up soon about AN + figures~

And look, it's almost 6 months! Wow, half a year.. we've been through so much, haven't we? Good times, bad times, sad times, lots of cry times, haha. Jeez, all that in half a year's time. Wonder what the next few years will bring. Let's keep it up, shall we? To tell you the truth, this year has got to be my best year - all because of you :)

Speaking or relationships! Just recently bought a thick, huge manga titled "Solanin" by Inio Asano who provided both art work and story line. This 400+ paged manga has a really neat story line, which caught my attention while flipping throught the pages quickly. It's a really good story, pick it up sometime. I mean, I'm really happy that I sacrificed Naruto Ship's vol 41 just to get this one~. This manga retails about $18 shmacks, but is a great addition to any manga collection~.

Mkay folks! Time for me to go work out a bit~ Been lazy the whole day, so I would like to make up for that haha. Reminds me I need to ship out this broken xbox and sdhc card for repairs and exchange. Geklgrejg, I hate shipping out items... more like I hate laziness. Ahh! Got a new phone, forgot to mention. It's an HTC Fuze by ATT, it's a neat phone. It's really the ATT version of the Touch Pro, and I think this model is waaay better than the Sprint(?) green ugly model. Way to go ATT ;D. Mkay, that sums about everything I would like to talk about~ Thanks for reading, and until then, cheers!

Goodies from Mitsuwa~!

Good evening ladies and gents! I've decided to somewhat cut out a little bit from my Mitsuwa update and place it into a separate update. I felt that my other post was a bit to long, so here we go~!

A little while ago, I went to Mitsuwa with En En and came back home with some goodies~!

ta dah!

It's not that much, but it's enough for me (for now)~!

Wow, let's see, it's been a really really long time as you can see, got me some Sakugan no Shanaand a Newtype magazine imported from good ol' Japan! Of course, I can't read it, but it's still worth the monnies!

 Up next, my ohh so delish and beau orange / strawb gummies! These guys are sooooo good, should have bought 5 more of each. These guys also come in unique shapes! Like the orange ones are shaped as hearts (still don't know why the strawbs are not heart shaped ones) and strawb's are plain.. rounc circles. These guys are so nice and chewy, and they have lotsa flavor! Should give these guys a try, they're made by Kasugai if anyone is interested!

Up next, HiChew! Man, these guys are the best ever since the Frutella era! Very chewy (really really chewy!) and has lotsa flavor too! Comes in Orange, Strawb, Green Apple, Grape?, and etc (me thinks Lychee too). Another thinger to try out!

And last but not least, good 'ol Milk Tea by Kirin. Telling you right now, these things are the best in the world. If you're a fan of Royal Milk Tea Bobba Tea, they you've got to try this. This is exactly the same flavor, but without the ice and tapioca. Still, it's worth the monnies~ Great buy :D

Well then, finally completed! Not what I wanted it to turn out (wanted to put more pics in for each product) but maybe next time~ Planning to go back to Mitsuwa at some point soon, so I'll be buying me more fuud, books, and gacha! Thanks for reading and until then, cheers!

It's been a while

Hey folks, Ohkeis here. It's been a while since my last blog post.. still need to finish up on the Mitsuwa goodie list "which I probably have at this point*. Sorry for my absence, as I know, the culprit is always laziness. Still, here I am! Going to write up a brand new entry~

Well anyways, what have I been up to these past few days? Ehh, same old same old - internets, imeem, internet window shopping, a bit of socializing, and etc etc. So not much really, but I wanted to share this --->

http://www.gizmine.com/#ProductPage=CategoryCode=gzrs&productURLCode=robochick

Yes, incredibly realistic robot chicks! These steamy hot chicks come to life with simple AA batteries and all, something I would like to get a day. But man, the price @_@ ---> $35 smackaroos. Hurts a bit, so it's in my "IfIhitthelotteryandmakeitbig,thisiswhatI'mgoingtobut" list. Yes, I have lots of stuff on that list. Other than that, these chicks mainly reminded me a part of my child hood. You see, back in the Phili Islands, we once used to take care of 3 baby chicks. They were adorable, cute, and fun to play with. I remember how fragile they would feel: so light and so soft, they almost seem breakable. But at the same time, I loved to be around these chicks - despite their smell, they interested me. Would like to take care of these yellow fluffy little guys once more, but that in my "thingstodobeforeIdie" list.

Well, other than chicks, I've been having problems lately. Well, let's say these problems are solved for now.. but it's hard to deal with them sometimes.

*Update - wow, again, forgot to finish up these posts! Will do so asap!

But for now, everything is fine! Happu happu lately, things have been going really really well! Hope that this continues onward to the future~

So, everyone, going to finish up that Mitsuwa goodie list soon, hopefully. Until then, cheers!

Mitsuwaa~!

Hello folks! Today, I bring you Mitsuwa~!

Image is not mine, I stole it from someone else~ Source : jeburner.com

Mitsuwa Marketplace is a lovely little place is located in Edgewater, NJ just right across NYC~ Mitsuwa imports lots of yummies from Japan so you don't have to go all the way to Japan to buy their stuff! Awesome right? I flipped out the first time being there. The place itself is pretty big: food court on one side and the little grocery on the other. It's also located on a little small strip-mall, Mitsuwa itself being the largest and central store of the strip-mall. Other stores include Books Sanseido, a little Japanese hobby / cultural store, Seishido, etc etc.

I was accompanied by my En En on my trip to Mitsuwa. Made this trip much fun ^^
From what I've heard, the place is packed on Satdays! But, look at this! It's a Monday, yet it's still packed! Thinger is though, it was President's Day, prolly packed thanks to that.

  entering Mitsuwa. I love the guy all the way to the right

blurry yes, but this was a line for ordering Creamyaki's

The food court itself was very full. We barely found any seats, but we luckily found some stools and ran to them before anyone else decides to take em.

all seats were taken :(

some fuud on display. Neat thing about their food court is that you get to see neat replica's of any type of meal with a number attached to the replica. Then, once you proceed to the counter, you mention which number meal you would like, and they will make it for you~.

So, what did I exactly get for lunch? A nice hot bowl of yummu Beef Curry Udon :D ! I love the quality of the noodles; it's very chewy, slippery and thick too! This makes it fun to slurp into your mouth then chew chew. The soup was very good too, it wasn't spicy at all! Also, chopsticks only! There are no forks available, and if you want to drink your soup, you drink from the bowl (unless you are in need of a spoon, there's always some there as well)! And as always, my lunch at Mitsuwa is accompanied by a bottle of Pocari Sweat,

Udon + a bottle of Pocari Sweat. Now that's a lunch!

After lunch, the grocery was next on our list! The grocery itself is fairly big, almost comparable to the size of a small Shoprite or Whole Foods. They also carry items that you would most likely see in a Shoprite-- only difference is the fact that the merchandise is  Japanese.

the refrigirated section. Lots of goodies here

as always, a picture of the small, yet amazing Pocari Sweat section

We didn't actually go around the grocery, but just passed by a few aisles (candy, snacks, beverages, refrigerated goods). It's always a must to go to those aisles. -Also, paying for your items is a rather interesting process. Since Mitsuwa is indeed a Japanese Marketplace, you must pay in Japanese Yen! Strange I know, but if you fail to do so, they will send killer robots and tons of ramen monsters to chase you out of the Marketplace. The Mitsuwa overlord wants all of your yen, not dollars! Nom Nom Nom

After some nice grocery shopping, we decided to take a break from Mitsuwa and decided to stop by two stores next door : Books Sanisedo and a small hobby / cultural shop. Books Sanseido was our first stop! It has a nice setup : Magazines up first on the left hand size, then books in the further left side, followed by DVD / CD section to the right, and a small stationary section upper right hand side. Of course, knowing me, I first attack the mango section~ In this section, they had a mix of translated and untranslated mango's. What's also neat is that untrans. mango's cost a lot cheaper than translated versions - around $5 difference. Also, untranslated mango's are a lot smaller compared to its translated counterparts. Still, I would very much love to learn Japanese, one reason = Japanese mango's! Speaking of the Japanese language, there is a little 'learn Japanese' section right next to the mango. This section consists of book ranging from dictionaries to Japanese textbooks! You must stop by this section if you would like some textbooks on learning Japanese~

translated mango's. Yes, the picture is sideways, thank you for criticizing ^^

some of the many untranslated mango's. Look at all those One Piece volumes~

En En looking at one of the 'learn Japanese' text books

After buying some goodies from the bookstore, we decide to stop by the hobby / cultural Japanese shop. This store is literealy split in two : the hobby section to the left and the cultural section to the right. However, some a section of the hobby side is overcome by some of the cultural merchandise. We were only interested in checking out the hobby side which had many merchandise such as toys, action figures, plushies, tee shirts, bags, key chains, and etc etc. But, we also checked out the small cultural section which had Japanese apparel, katana's, bokken's, furniture, and etc etc. However, we didn't have much time to look around, so no pictures here :<

Afterwards, we decided to take take a break from shopping and buy some nice treats back in Mitsuwa! We decided to buy some yummu creamyaki's, which are snacks made out of pancake-like substance with a nice cream filling in the middle~. There are also obanyaki's and taiyaki's which have their different flavored centers. Also, each pancake-like snack has their unique shape. Creamyaki's are circular shaped and each piece has one of teh twelve Chinese zodiac animals printed on the piece. Taniyaki's are molded into fishies and obanyaki's are just plain, oval shaped snack. I've never tried either taiyaki's or obanyaki's, but creamyaki's are awesome.

the little shoppe making / selling these pancake goodies~

how these little yums are made~

After buying ourselves a nice set of Creamyaki's, we decide to take a nice stroll along the Hudson River. Right behind Mitsuwa, there is a little pathway which is directly connected to another strip-mall (both Mitsuwa and this other stip-mall are seperated by a small driving range). The Hudson is accompanied by a nice view of NYC directly across from Mitsuwa. Such a combination provided a really great view, however, the cold still bites during this time of year. Still, it's a very nice walk, so the cold doesn't really bother much.

Em Em + The Hudson River and NYC. Nice view~

Mitsuwa is a great place to visit for any Japan fan out there. Great food, awesome merchandise, and a beautiful scenery makes Mitsuwa a must visit! You will have plenty to do in Mitsuwa + you can also enjoy the wonderful scenery with some yum snacks or you can spend your day inside the Japanese bookstore. If you have a empty slot in your week, why not stop by Mitsuwa? I'm sure you will have lots of fun over there, just make sure you bring $$$. I found some items mildly expensive, but I happen to have bought lots of merchandise. For the most part, Mitsuwa is a great place to visit. Thank you for reading my rather long update, and until then, cheers!

Manga Moods!

Hello everyone, this is a post from my old Xanga site which I might just not use anymore. So I've decided to move this over here~ :

Hello all, today I will introduce to you Manga Moods!!

(wow, glowing book of cuteness!)

What can I say, this book is KAWAII regardless of its small size. Very detailed and packed with information on various phrases on different moods. Each individual page has its own uniqueness and is organized into two sections:

and the illustration page on the right

Each different illustration shows how each different mood is represented (by manga girls)

just a few more examples of the book's overflowing kawaii illustrations

Who drew these kewt little illustrations you may ask? Saori Takarai is the one to point at! She also illustrated for another book titled Manga Sisters which looks like a must buy to delight yourself with more kawaii~
The book itself is hardcover and has 96 pages (around 80 pages are of the moods + illus.) Manga Moods itself provides a whooping 80 phrases (two for each mood) and 40 faces. It also has a few subsections about the Japanese writing system which gives a somewhat detailed description of Japanese characters and sounds.

However, even with all this cuteness and information in one small book, the price is reasonably low (retail $12.99) at your local bookstore but may be  bought for an even cheaper price online if you think thirteen shmackaroos is bad enough for your wallet. Since I, myself, am cheap and would rather pay for shipping than taxes, I decided to stop by Amazon.com to get my books. I ordered mine from bookmavens (an independent books store in amazon) and got it at a cheap price of $5.35!!! (plus shipping of $3.99). However, bookmavens didn't prove to be adept in shipping, but the quality of the books is ok (except for one problem with one book)!

looks reasonable..

but the first book has some problems with the lamination. Im not sure wether or not this was damaged by the factory or bookmavens itself.. but this still makes me a sad bear. So my suggestion is to avoid bookmavens if your going to buy it on Amazon! However, if you don't really care about the shipping speeds, then bookmavens if a fine place to get it cheaply ^^;

Well, that's all for my review of Manga Moods. I would mark this item as a must buy for any otaku's out there! You'll never get tired of looking at these cute faces ^3^

Pocari Sweat

So, what is this stuff anyway? Well, here are info's from the unreliable Wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocari_Sweat - but let me jot down info's I already know~. Pocari Sweat is an "ion supply drink" meaning its a drink that replenishes electrolytes and other goodies you loose during a workout or other activities. So we could say that this thinger is your Japanese Gatorade, but Pocari Sweat comes in only one flavor. This drink comes in three different forms : regular liquid, fizzy liquid, and powdered. Out of the three, I've already tried the powdered and regular liquid~. Taste? Well, I can't really describe it, but I can tell you its a goodie. I was able to taste a considerable amount of sodium, but all is well.

Wait, don't you live some where in the United States.. and this is a Japanese product?! Well, I've been to Japan (airport) lots of times, mainly for stopovers. I've happen to find a bottle in one of the many convenience stores in Nagoya Airport (and many other goodies, Calorie Mate~), so I bought a bottle for my trip back home.

My face has been masked for privacy. Wait a minute, is that even me?!

It was a good treat, it helped me deal with the airplane flight by preventing dehydration~. But anyhow, this is a great thinger to buy on your next trip to Japan.

Powdered form: Well, I bought this little guy in a Japanese Market in one of the 50 states of America. Powdered comes in a little box hosting 5 packets inside~. One packet can make a nice 500 mL's worth of Pocari Sweat drink~

And pictures for you~ sorry for quality ><

box~

Instructions! Very difficult to open the box, took lots of effort and muscle ><;

5 packets~ they all look so cozy in there.. may I join you guys?!

And he's out!

How does the powder look like? Hmm, well, I happened to try out the powder mix during one of my work out sessions.. and here it is!
More pictures again.. haha:

Blurry yes.. but you can see the powder~

and this was a hard moment for the both of us ; ;

But anyhow, the mix I did was a bit too concentrated.. I should've put more water >>;. But what can I comment about Pocari Sweat? Well, for one thing, its yummu and has a unique flavor. Second, this guy beats Gatorade hands down. I dislike Gatorade for some reason.. don't ask me why XD. But overall, this is a wonderful product. The drink costs around 199 yen(?) equivalent to almost $2 while the powdered set costs around $10. Prices are pretty reasonable I would assume~. Well, that's about it for my review on Pocari Sweat. Until then, cheers!

Another Day~

Ahh, was supposed to write this entry yesterday, but my work was calling me~. Well lets see, I went to a Chinese buffet for dinner yesterday. Very lovely.. food was actually yummu. Sweet and Sour soup was pretty good too, even though I didn't taste anything in the first spoonful. After lunch came the customary desert of self-serve vanilla icecream. Yes, icecream during the American Winter.. how stranger can I get? Still, I enjoyed my overall buffet trip yesterday~. The bill was cheap too, and I got a nice fortune (or so I think) -- "Every exit is an entrance to new experiences." -- which I do agree~.

After leaving the buffet, I've decided to stop by one of the many closing Circuit City's. It's pretty sad seeing all these stores close down around you. It does make me think about our current economic crisis and all.. hope things turn out well at the end of it all ><. This particular Circuit City was almost empty (but the television sets are still to be sold.. good luck) and everything was discounted. I managed to buy a DVD for $10 - Letters from Iwo Jima. I'm not sure how this movie did in the theaters.. but hopefully its a goodie~

The movie, was originally $20+

Not only did I get a DVD, but also this gigantic receipt! This thing is huge, never seen anything like it~!

Yes, its almost as big as the DVD itself ^^;

And above the two is my newly acquired Google mouse!! This little guy is compact and has a fast response time (well, must faster than my old mouse XD) !! Not only does it have a small size, but it's wireless as well! Might just by my first wireless laser mouse~. This little guy came in a nice bright red color and retails for $20 online~ However, I didn't have to pay a single cent for this little guy (yay) for reasons I do not want to explain :). I'm actually happy to have this mouse, but I still miss using my old Logitech xD. A close up if you will~ :

The other Google mice come in solid colors~ but this one is nice enough.. although it's a more brighter red than the picture shows >>;

But other than yesterday, today was a pretty normal day. Normal, but very cold. Everyone, make sure to dress warmly please! It's way to cold to go out with only a sweater and slippers (I've tried that already, believe me~). So, until then, cheers~

Today

Lets see, today is the 6th of December, about to turn 10 : 58 while typing this. Today was a rather an uneventful day. Currently bored with typing my paper, I've decided to write my very first entry to my new blog~. I'm not an experienced blogger since I haven't really started blogging no until last year. But, that blog was a complete failure.. I didn't really enjoy using xanga.

Now lets go through my day~. Today, I first woke up at 7:15 (around that time) to show support to a good friend of mine before tackling her last SAT test (congrats to you~ :) ). After our texts, I decided to go back to sleep. Bed was rather warm and comfortable. I woke up again around 11 : 30 to finally hop out of the sack and do my usual thing. Eventually had lunch at 2 then did whatever to keep me busy.

A certain event during the afternoon has led me to watch some television (a rarity) and I've happened to bump into an oldie called The American Tail. I'm a bit to lazy to give a basic summary, but if you are interested, wiki = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_American_Tail . I started to watch it near the ending (about 45 - 35 min until the ending?) and I completely forgot how touching this movie was. The little child mouse, Fievel, is in complete disarray to be separated from his family. Fievel does try to search for his family, but his attempts fail. Only in the end is where he is reunited with his family (where his family finds him.. while he has given up on his search), like all typical Disney movies and their happy endings. It was a really sweet movie, specially when Fievel and his sister sing that "Somewhere, Out There" song~ (not sure of it's proper title, sorry ><), That part of the movie kinda did make me feel bad about the little mouse. I will consider this movie as a re-watch, and if you didn't watch it yet rent it. Well, can't really think of any other things to say about this movie.. but I was glad to have watched it again.

After the movie marathon, I attempted to fix my lovely Sony Ericsson P1i and its stupid MMS problems. I still am not sure on how to solve this issue, but the problem is I am unable to download any MMS messages onto my phone. When ever I get an MSS, it always has this stupid time restriction that keeps shifting itself forward everytime i try to view the message. This is currently investigated, but if you would like to help, please comment (not sure if anyone would be reading this blog anyway xD) I am currently signed up with Cingular / ATT. And yes, I won't give you my number unless I personaly know you :)

Well, after I gave up on that, I did more things to occupy my time and now we end up here~. Even though I have a paper due Monday, here I am updating my blog. Haha, I must say, I do enjoy slacking off during work. It's apparently an old habit of mine, but I should do something about it >< . Well, I'm off to do my paper, and cheers!

-Kei
